April has been full of big moments, family memories, and fresh starts. From our first family trip to Hawaii and a surprise proposal, to choosing health, slowing down, and celebrating the Month of the Military Child, this month has been one to remember at Mermaid Kove.

The start of the year flew by with Mermaid Kove orders, family moments, and being named Teacher of the Month. We celebrated love, Black History Month, and J. Kai's beach birthday. As March begins, we look forward to traditions, celebrating women, and something new quietly on the horizon.

In that cold hospital room, time stood still. The smell of bleach, the hum of machines, the words I never wanted to hear — “There’s no heartbeat.” That moment changed everything. It’s a piece from one of the books I’ve been writing, but it’s also my truth — the story of the Minnows I never got to raise. As we honor Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day on October 15th, I hold space for every parent who’s loved and lost. 💜

May at Mermaid Kove was a beautiful whirlwind-packed with family celebrations, end-of-school chaos, and tons of gratitude. We honored AAPI Heritage Month, celebrated Mother’s Day, reflected on mental health, and remembered our military heroes. Through it all, the ocean and this amazing community kept me grounded. 💙
